Sciamano: Chi è veramente e cosa fa questo personaggio?
Amici ho deciso di parlare di questa figura cosi tanto misteriosa perché ho notato che in rete va tanto di moda e si sta diffondendo sempre più la certezza che possa sostituirsi del tutto allo psicologo o ad un esorcista.
Parliamo delle origini per prima cosa, che sono riconducibili all’area Siberiana e dell’Asia centrale, si tratta quindi di tradizioni tipiche delle popolazioni altaiche e delle regioni artiche europee, che risulta essersi diffusa tramite migrazione nella zona dell’America settentrionale e meridionale. Anche se attualmente gli studiosi ritengono non si possa considerare la sola origine Indoeuropea vista la diffusione che appare quasi contemporanea nelle zone dell’America del Nord. Non dobbiamo infatti dimenticare che i primi incontri tra gli europei e gli Sciamani sono riconducibili al XIII secolo, ben prima della scoperta delle Americhe, cosa che potrebbe aver influenzato notevolmente la nostra visione che rimane ancora in divenire.
Nella visione comune il termine “Sciamano”, nell’immaginario comune, è quindi più facilmente associato agli Indiani d’America (in modo abbastanza erroneo perché in effetti quelli d’America sono più dei guaritori), per un fatto credo cinematografico ed alcune realtà orientali, Africane e Australiane dove la concezione della realtà era ed è, in alcuni contesti, basata su spiriti ultraterreni immortali che determinavano ogni evento terreno; partendo da questo principio ogni problema può essere risolto da una sorta di “Mediatore”, che aveva la capacità innata di comunicare con tali esseri e perorare le cause degli umani.
La sua funzione dal mio punto di vista era più quella di uno psicologo che di un vero e proprio “santone”, una figura che ispirava fiducia nel popolo ed infatti spesso e volentieri era ruolo ricoperto da persona che godeva di grande rispetto… Ma veniamo a tempi più recenti quando questa figura si è diffusa nell’est del continente europeo.
Al contrario della tradizione originaria da noi ha assunto una valenza assai diversa, venendo associato al ciarlatano, che, con la pretesa di guarire o risolvere problemi, in realtà mirava a guadagni economici.
Gli illuministi dicevano di loro:

La cultura illuminista ha quindi dato il colpo di grazia a questa categoria relegandola al livello di truffatori senza alcuna utilità pratica superiore a quella di arricchirsi, ma va anche sottolineato che gli illuministi sono gli stessi che oggi formano il CICAP e che a mio avviso sono una piaga. Sfortunatamente in molti casi è proprio così che è andata, anche se per amor del vero ho conosciuto delle persone che praticano tale disciplina e si sono rivelate sinceramente votate a fare del bene, quindi come sempre non bisogna fare di tutta l’erba un fascio e valutare caso per caso, perché la caccia alle streghe è sempre sbagliata.

The Enlightenment culture then gave the coup de grace to this category relegating it to the level of scammers without any practical utility superior to that of getting rich, but it must also be emphasized that the Enlighteners are the same that today form the CICAP and that I believe are a scourge.
