Skinning Tom: La leggenda dello spirito dell’uomo senza pelle
Amici andando in giro a cercare strane storie mi sono imbattuto in questa leggenda metropolitana originaria del Tennesee. Il protagonista è un certo Tom, originario del posto, che avrebbe iniziato a frequentare una donna del posto ignorando del tutto che questa fosse sposata.
Come spesso accade la parte lesa, ossia il marito della donna, venne a sapere della tresca amorosa e decise di vendicarsi nel modo più spaventoso possibile. Iniziò a pedinare la moglie fino a scoprirla insieme al suo amante in un posto appartato, quindi aspettò il momento giusto, aggredì la coppia di amanti uccidendo immediatamente la moglie a coltellate per poi passare al rivale in amore.
La cosa spaventosa della storia è che non si limitò ad uccidere il povero Tom, ma lo scuoiò del tutto lasciando uno spettacolo terribile alla vista di chi trovò i corpi. Si dice in certe sere vagando in quei luoghi ci si possa imbattere nello spirito dello “Scuoiato Tom” e che questi, del tutto senza pelle e gocciolante di sangue, trasferisca il suo dolore a chiunque lo veda…
Storia senz’altro suggestiva quella che vi ho raccontato, ma adesso viene il bello, perché analizzando la leggenda in rete ho trovato delle informazioni curiose e sembra che questa storia sia stata l’ispiratrice del celebre film “Nigthmare” e che il personaggio di Freedy Krueger sia direttamente derivato dalla storia dello “Scuoiato Tom”…

Friends going around looking for strange stories I came across this urban legend originating in the Tennesee. The protagonist is a certain Tom, a native of the place, who would have started attending a local woman completely ignoring that she was married.
As often happens, the injured party, the husband of the woman, came to know about the love affair and decided to take revenge in the most frightening way possible. He began to stalk his wife until he discovered her with his lover in a secluded place, then waited for the right moment, attacked the pair of lovers immediately killing his wife with a knife and then move on to the rival in love.
The scary thing in the story is that he did not just kill poor Tom, but he completely scorned him, leaving a terrible sight at the sight of those who found the bodies. It is said that on certain evenings wandering in those places one can encounter the spirit of the “Skinned Tom” and that these, completely without skin and dripping with blood, transfer their pain to whoever sees him …
History is certainly suggestive that I told you, but now comes the beauty, because analyzing the legend on the net I found some curious information and it seems that this story was the inspirer of the famous movie “Nigthmare” and that the character of Freedy Krueger is directly derived from the story of the “Skinned Tom” …
