Inferior Scogna: The legend of the phantom violin

Friends we are in Scogna Inferiore (Or if you prefer Scogna Sottana), in the province of La Spezia, to tell the story of a house infested by the spectrum of a musician … An extremely fascinating story but for my professional deformation relegate to urban legends because, in the absence of certain evidence, everything is based on rumors and testimonies of the locals.

What is it? I said haunted house because in fact I am reluctant to think that a spirit, whatever it is, can live in an object, but in fact it is an object that we must speak. This house would have been the residence of a musician and precisely a violinist rather in love with his art, so much so that at his death it seems that his spirit is linked to his beloved violin …

A romantic story of ghosts, in short, since it is said that on the darkest nights, the violin sounds of excruciating melodies that have been heard by different people. Now this building is known as “the house of the violin”, indicating in a certain sense that the history of the instrument transcends the history of the musician …

For those who live in the area there is no doubt, the violin sounds intoning the saddest of melodies, for me it remains a beautiful story to tell in front of a fire and a good glass of wine, but in the absence of evidence remains only a story.
