Una leggenda antichissima: I fantasmi profeti
Amici eccoci alle prese con un argomento che in fondo tutti conosciamo se pur sommariamente, i Fantasmi Profeti. Di cosa si tratta? Leggenda vuole che esistano alcuni tipi di entità che si dedichino ad una attività piuttosto particolare, ossia mettere in guardia i viventi da imminenti pericoli, chiamiamo questo genere di spiriti “Fantasmi Profeti”.
Si usa Fantasmi in senso piuttosto lato perché non sempre sarebbero di natura umana ma, come nel caso della Banshee, possono essere di origine piuttosto differente. La cosa che accomuna tutti sarebbe la loro propensione a comparire in momenti particolari della nostra vita, a volte in sogno a volte durante la veglia, per avvisarci a loro modo di un pericolo. Dico a loro modo perché la tradizione vuole che siano criptici e che diano solo una direzione senza per altro spiegare realmente a cosa si debba stare attenti…
La Banshee ad esempio esegue questo suo compito piangendo disperata e noi sappiamo che a questo suo pianto dovrebbe corrispondere la imminente dipartita di chi la oda, ma in alcuni casi avviserebbe della morte di un nemico con un canto gioioso… Insomma va interpretata.
Nella letteratura esistono degli esempi eccellenti di tali entità, come ad esempio il fantasma del Natale Futuro del “Canto di Natale” di Charles Dickens, che avvisa uno spilorcio Ebenezer Scrooge della mala sorte che gli toccherà in futuro, senza dimenticare William Shakespeare e lo spirito del Re, padre di Amleto che, nell’omonima opera, compare al giovane principe per metterlo in guardia dal suo nuovo patrigno Re Claudio, colpevole di averlo ucciso per ottenere il trono.
Sempre secondo la leggenda, questi fantasmi potrebbero apparire a chiunque di noi, forse lo spirito di un caro estinto che, potendo accedere alle informazioni future, cerca di salvarci da delle brutte situazioni… Voi che ne pensate?
An ancient legend: The prophet ghosts
Friends here we are dealing with a topic that we all know, although summarily, the Ghosts Prophets. What is it? Legend has it that there are some types of entities that are dedicated to a rather particular activity, that is to warn the living beings from imminent dangers, we call this kind of spirits “Fantasmi Profeti”.
We use ghosts in a rather sided sense because they would not always be human in nature but, as in the case of the Banshee, they may be of quite different origin. The thing that unites all would be their propensity to appear in particular moments of our lives, sometimes in dreams sometimes during the wake, to warn us in their own way of danger. I say in their own way because tradition wants them to be cryptic and give only one direction without really explaining what you should be careful about …
The Banshee, for example, performs this task desperately weeping and we know that this cry should correspond to the imminent departure of those who hear it, but in some cases would warn of the death of an enemy with a joyful song … In short, it must be interpreted.
In the literature there are excellent examples of such entities, such as the Christmas ghost Future of the “Christmas Song” by Charles Dickens, which warns a stingy Ebenezer Scrooge of the bad fate that will touch in the future, not to mention William Shakespeare and the spirit of the King, the father of Hamlet who, in the homonymous work, appears to the young prince to warn him of his new stepfather, King Claudius, guilty of killing him to obtain the throne.
According to the legend, these ghosts could appear to any of us, perhaps the spirit of a dear extinct that, being able to access future information, tries to save us from bad situations … What do you think?
