Queen Mary, la nave fantasma che ha ucciso 50 persone
Amici parliamo ancora di una nave fantasma e per farlo ho scelto la regina delle categoria, la Queen Mary. Questo transaltantico ha una lunga storia di navigazione che va da 1936 al 1967 e nel corso di questi anni ha visto enormi cambiamenti tanto che nel periodo della seconda guerra mondiale fu dipinta di grigio ed adibita a nave militare per il trasporto truppe, tanto da meritarsi il soprannome di “Grey Ghost”.
Oggi la nave è diventata un hotel e la sua fama richiama migliaia di persone in cerca di un brivido e cacciatori di fantasmi da tutto il mondo.
Alla vista non pare certo un posto spettrale da visitare, eppure nei decenni di attività ha collezionato un incredibile numero di incidenti assurdi che hanno portato alla morte accertata di 50 persone, e dico accertata perché le dicerie parlano di un numero significativamente maggiore… Le storie che si raccontano sono tante ma due in particolare spiccano tra tutte, quella di John Henry, un meccanico che mentì sulla sua vera età pur di essere assunto e che per un caso sfortunatissimo morì bruciato nella sala macchine allorché un incendio divampò in modo improvviso senza dargli scampo e quella di una bambina che a causa del mare burrascoso inciampò battendo la testa nel locale della piscina morendo sul colpo…
Alcuni testimoni sostengono che si sentano i passi pesanti di John lungo i corridoi, come se ancora cercasse scampo dandosi alla fuga e altri hanno giurato di aver visto la sagoma dalla bambina correre lungo il bordo piscina chiedendo la sua bambola.
Queste storie hanno ispirato molti film ed in particolare la bambina della piscina è stata utilizzata per il noto film Ghost Ship facendola comparire proprio nella zona della piscina…
Naturalmente come in tutti i casi di luoghi infestati non vi sono certezze e lascio a voi il compito di farvi un idea.

Friends still talk about a ghost ship and to do so I chose the queen of the category, the Queen Mary. This trans-Atlantic has a long history of navigation that goes from 1936 to 1967 and during these years has seen huge changes so much that in the period of the Second World War it was painted gray and used as a military ship for the transport troops, so as to deserve the nickname of “Gray Ghost”.
Today the ship has become a hotel and its fame attracts thousands of people in search of a thrill and ghost hunters from around the world.
At sight it certainly does not seem a ghostly place to visit, but over the decades of activity has collected an incredible number of absurd incidents that led to the ascertained death of 50 people, and I say confirmed because the rumors speak of a significantly greater number … stories that are told are many but two in particular stand out among all, that of John Henry, a mechanic who lied about his true age to be hired and that for an unfortunate case died burned in the engine room when a fire suddenly broke out without give him escape and that of a child who because of the stormy sea stumbled, beating his head in the pool room dying on the spot …
Some witnesses say that John’s heavy footsteps are heard along the corridors, as if he were still trying to escape, and others have sworn that they saw the silhouette of the girl running along the edge of the pool asking for her doll.
These stories have inspired many films and in particular the girl in the pool was used for the well-known Ghost Ship movie making it appear right in the pool area …
