Overtoun Bridge: Il ponte maledetto da cui si suicidano i cani
Amici oggi parliamo di un luogo maledetto, il ponte di Overtoun. Si tratta di un ponte ad arco situato in Scozia vicino a Dumbarton nel Dunbartonshire Occidentale. La struttura che appare splendida alla vista ha però una triste storia che continua ancora oggi… I cani se lasciati liberi da guinzaglio si lanciano nel vuoto andando incontro alla morte, un suicidio inspiegabile che ha interessato un numero enorme di bestiole ( si parla di 600 fatti accertati), tanto che un cartello avvisa i passanti di tenere i cani al guinzaglio. Il mistero non è ma stato chiarito nonostante i vari tentativi, un’ipotesi fu che i cani fossero attratti dall’odore di visoni, ipotesi che, dopo un approfondita analisi, fu scartata dal momento che non furono trovate tracce di visoni…
La teoria più accreditata è quella paranormale che racconta di uno spirito del tipo Dama Bianca di Overtoun che attirerebbe i cani capaci di percepirlo e che lo seguirebbero nel vuoto nel tentativo di acchiapparlo… Di qualunque cosa si tratti l’unica certezza è che 600 cani si sono suicidati senza una ragione plausibile…
Il ponte oggi è noto con il triste appellativo di “ponte dei cani suicidi” ed il triste mistero continua.
