Leggende metropolitane: Il Tiyanak

ITA

Metropolitan Legends: The Tiyanak

ENG

Friends today begin a new chapter about metropolitan legends, those stories that are handed down orally from person to person and with the passing of time they are getting more and more thick … What I would like to analyze with you is not so much a list of scary stories but The possibility that in the midst of the most imaginative lies something authentic, and to start I chose the Tiyanak.

The Tiyanak is a creature similar to a vampire born from the stories of Filipino mythology that looks like a newborn baby. It is said that this creature squirms in the forest to attract unkempt visitors. Once the victim traces the sound, he will find the abandoned child and tears. So it will take it and tighten it to itself, but the Tiyanak will return to its true shape and eat the traveler’s head. It also tells you that you find pleasure in taking travelers away or kidnapping.

On its origins there are several versions, and the most plausible and widespread seems to be that of a baby spirit whose mother met with death before childbirth … In this way, the being becomes demoniac human and seeks revenge for the world. We know that its origins are the Philippines, yet there is a version in many other cultures with similar characteristics, especially in the Christian Judaic tradition is described similarly and finds paranormal origin in the dead babies before they have received baptism. The reason for his transformation into being demonic seems to be due to the lack of a name since they are never born babies.

Now I do not know how true this legend may be, but the fact that it is spread in so many different cultures causes suspicion to emerge, of course I can only tell you not to follow a child’s crying in the woods alone
