La leggenda della creatura delle foreste: Leshy
Amici eccovi ancora una leggenda di origine slava, si tratta del Leshy (In russo ле́ший che letteralmente si può tradurre in “colui che abita le foreste”) . Nella mitologia slava viene descritto come una creatura dalle dimensioni variabili con la brutta abitudine di giocare brutti scherzi ad ignari passanti. Solitamente pare che si limiti a tali burle, ma in alcuni casi può arrabbiarsi e perdere il controllo diventando infido e malvagio e pare sia davvero raro riuscire a vederlo, anche se la sua voce può essere udita, ascoltando con attenzione, mentre fischietta o canticchia dei motivetti…
Sul suo aspetto viene raccontato che sia simile a quello di un uomo, solo mediamente più grosso, del tutto privo di sopracciglia e di ciglia e, questa è la cosa più curiosa, gli mancherebbe l’orecchio destro. La sua testa avrebbe una strana forma appuntita e le dimensioni del suo corpo muterebbero in modo significativo passando da quelle di un grosso albero a quelle dell’erba… Insomma non cercateci della logica, si tratta pur sempre di leggende popolari, quel che importa è che sia diffusa in tutti i paesi slavi mentre spingendoci in Ucraina e Russia si dice che non abiti i territori delle steppe ma nonostante ciò se ne parla come una creatura tipica. In alcuni racconti questo strano essere ha una moglie (Leshachikha) e dei figli (leshonki) e se a questo punto vi state chiedendo in cosa consistano gli scherzi di questo essere sappiate che la sua passione e portare i visitatori dei boschi fuori strada e rapire i loro bambini, chiamateli scherzi voi… A causa di questo suo comportamento è spesso definito malvagio, ma va detto che il suo comportamento è influenzato in modo significativo dal rispetto che si ha nei confronti della sua foresta.
Per chi sia appassionato della saga del Signore degli Anelli è naturale pensare ai Barbalberi, ed in effetti ricordano parecchio le creature fantasiose del romanzo di Tolkien, quindi state attenti quando vi trovate nei boschi, meglio rispettare la natura 😉

On his appearance is told that it is similar to that of a man, only on average larger, completely devoid of eyebrows and eyelashes and, this is the most curious thing, he would miss his right ear. His head would have a strange sharp shape and the size of his body would change significantly from those of a large tree to those of the grass … So do not look for logic, it is still popular legends, what matters is that it is widespread in all the Slavic countries while pushing us to Ukraine and Russia it is said that it does not live in the territories of the steppes, but nevertheless it speaks of it as a typical creature. In some stories this strange being has a wife (Leshachikha) and sons (leshonki) and if at this point you are wondering what the jokes of this being are about know that his passion is to take the visitors out of the woods and kidnap the their children, call them jokes … Because of his behavior is often called evil, but it must be said that his behavior is significantly influenced by the respect he has towards his forest.
For those who are passionate about the saga of the Lord of the Rings it is natural to think of the Barbalberi, and in fact they remember quite a lot the fanciful creatures of Tolkien’s novel, so be careful when you are in the woods, better respect nature 😉
