La città piu infestata del mondo: Toowoomba
Amici parliamo di un evento mediatico di cui si sente parlare molto spesso di questi tempi: Toowoomba.
Si tratta di una città del sud-est del Queensland, nell’Australia nord-orientale. L’origine del suo nome non è nota con certezza, ma, probabilmente, potrebbe derivare da un nome aborigeno che significa “palude”. La città si trova 132 km a ovest di Brisbane, la capitale del Queensland e a 2 ore di auto dalle spiagge della Gold Coast e della Sunshine Coast. Toowoomba è, dopo Canberra, la più popolosa città non costiera dell’Australia.
Cosa c’è di strano in questa città a molti del tutto sconosciuta? Sembra che si sia guadagnata la fama di città più infestata del mondo e, a dire il vero, non si capisce quanto di questa storia si real e e quanto studiato a tavolino.
Tutto è nato qualche anno fa allorché venne alla ribalta una fotografia con un presunto spirito immortalato vicino ad una lapide, foto che, sfortunatamente, credo sia assolutamente fasulla, un po’ per la mia esperienza di ricercatore ed un po’ per quella di grafico…
Eppure le segnalazioni da parte della popolazione sono tante e spesso da fonti attendibili, agenti di polizia ad esempio… Nel giro di poco tempo la città è diventata la mecca dei ricercatori del paranormale alimentando un turismo particolare. In particolare si sostiene che la maggior parte dei fenomeni segnalati siano di tipo Poltergeist e questo mi risulta molto interessante anche se non possiamo dimenticare che questo genere di fenomeni è tra i più mistificati in assoluto ( vasi che cadono, sedie che si muovono e via dicendo).
Quanto ci sia di vero e quanto sia fantasia non lo posso proprio dire, lascio giudicare voi…

What’s strange in this city to many completely unknown? It seems that it has earned the reputation of the most haunted city in the world and, to be honest, it is not clear how much of this story is real and what has been studied at a table.
It all started a few years ago when a photograph came to the fore with a presumed spirit immortalized near a plaque, a photo that, unfortunately, I think is absolutely fake, a bit ‘for my experience as a researcher and a bit’ for the graph. ..
Yet the reports from the population are many and often from reliable sources, police officers for example … In a short time the city has become the mecca of paranormal researchers fueling a particular tourism. In particular it is claimed that most of the phenomena reported are of the Poltergeist type and this is very interesting to me even if we can not forget that this kind of phenomena is among the most mystified ever (falling vessels, moving chairs and so on) ).
How true and how fancy I really can not say, I let you judge …
