Nikola Tesla: The project of the camera for thoughts

Friends is certainly not a mystery to you that I adore Nikola Tesla, I consider him one of the greatest inventors of the modern age, and there are many inventions that remained on paper due to lack of funds and time …

This project that I would like to talk about has gone down in history as a raving, so I’ll tell it as if it were science fiction, yet, in my opinion, it started from a not so absurd principle, considering that Tesla was anything but a man with down to earth. It is a camera capable of capturing the thoughts …

His idea starts from the principle that the human body is a conductor and that our thoughts are in every way conveyed through electrical signals. Today we know that grafting sensors communicating with the nervous system can control artificial limbs and even more complex systems such as those found in military aircraft, so why consider his idea so absurd? Every day images and sounds travel through electrical signals being reproduced by our televisions or computers.

This camera would have been perhaps more like a computer today, receiving signals from our brain would interpret them by programming by reproducing the thought and then give us the opportunity to save the result … In short, once identified the signal corresponding to a image data a computer could associate it with a figure in a preloaded database …

Do you really think it’s impossible?
