Le leggendarie fate Janas

Le leggendarie fate Janas sono delle leggendarie fatine appartenenti alla più antica mitologia Sarda. Vivono nelle cosiddette “Domus de Janas” (Case delle Janas), che in realtà erano tombe scavate nella roccia. Altre fonti le collocano in cima ai Nuraghe dove tessevano con un telaio d’oro.

Si narra che avessero l’aspetto di bellissime donne, ma che  potessero cambiare forma e dimensioni a loro piacimento, che vivessero in delle piccole case scavate nella roccia (Domus de Janas) con le loro unghie d’acciaio, e che esse si spostassero fluttuando senza che i loro piedi toccassero mai terra.
Ad ogni nuova nascita era allora obbligo del padre e della madre, chiamare come madrina del bimbo una Jana che avrebbe vegliato su di lui per tutta la vita come un angelo custode.
Le loro tracce si sono perse nel tempo insieme a quelle dei costruttori delle tombe dei giganti, arrivate e scomparse quando ancora l’uomo non possedeva la scrittura, la loro esistenza è stata tramandata oralmente, e la loro storia si perde e si trasforma in funzione della zona alla quale appartiene.
Le janas, letteralmente “streghe” hanno subito negli anni una trasformazione in fate buone, ma in ogni caso, che si definiscano buone o malvagie, sono legate da  comuni caratteristiche che legano tutti i racconti e cioè sono in grado di trasmettere all’uomo la conoscenza dell’ignoto e vivono nelle Domus scavate in varie tipologia di roccia sempre con la stessa identica struttura in tutto il territorio sardo. Queste Domus erano usate fin dal periodo Paleolitico come tombe ma la datazione delle stesse lascia perplessi gli studiosi che sono convinti che risalgano ad un periodo precedente lasciando di fatto un enorme aura di mistero circa il loro reale utilizzo. Parlando con degli amici sono venuto a conoscenza di un luogo dove pare siano state viste delle creature dall’aspetto femminile danzare intorno ad una sorta di piscina naturale nei pressi del paese di Santadi e precisamente nel bosco di Pantaleo.

The legendary fairies Janas

The legendary fairies Janas are the legendary fairies belonging to the oldest Sardinian mythology. They live in so-called “Domus de Janas” (houses of Janas), which in reality were rock-cut tombs. Other sources place them on top of Nuraghe where wove with a golden frame.

It is said that had the appearance of beautiful women, but that could change shape and size as they please, they lived in small houses carved into the rock (Domus de Janas) with their steel nails, and that they were to move fluttering without their feet they never touch the ground.
Every birth was then obliged the father and the mother, the baby call as a godmother Jana who would watch over him all my life like a guardian angel.
Their tracks have been lost over time along with those of the tombs of the giants builders arrived and disappeared when man still did not own writing, their existence has been passed down orally, and their history is lost and turns into operation the area to which it belongs.
The Janas, literally “witches” have undergone a transformation over the years in good fairies, but in any case, that define good or evil, are linked by common features that bind all the stories, and that is they are able to transmit to man the knowledge of the unknown and live in the Domus dug in various types of rock with always the exact same structure throughout the Sardinian territory. These Domus were used since the Paleolithic period as tombs but the dating of the same perplexing scholars who are convinced that they date back to a time before leaving in fact a huge aura of mystery about their actual use. Talking with the friends I came to know of a place where apparently been looking views of female creatures dancing around a kind of natural swimming pool near the village of Santadi and precisely in the wood of Pantaleo.
