La vera storia della Strega di Blair
Molti tra voi certamente ricorderanno la famosa pellicola “La strega di Blair”, diversi anni fa fu un successone cinematografico a bassissimo costo. Il film raccontava la storia di una presunta strega che infestava i boschi circostanti la cittadina di Blair in Nebraska, catturava bambini e li uccideva uno ad uno lasciando che gli altri assistessero alla morte dei compagni rivolti di spalle in modo da non vedere la scena ma capire che stava arrivando il loro turno. La storia fu pompata tantissimo in quegli anni spacciandola per una sorta di documentario finito male ma era tutto ricostruito abilmente con la tecnica del “Mockumentary” ossia del falso documentario. Quello che non molti sanno è che la storia è stata inventata del tutto, compresa la leggenda metropolitana del Maryland (Segnalazione di Danilo T.) che si fa risalire al 1771 e cioè al tempo in cui gli stati uniti non erano ancora uno stato sovrano. Nella leggenda si narra che una donna chiamata Elly Kedward accusata di stregoneria e messa al bando dal villaggio di Blair divenne per vendetta una sorta di serial killer di bambini; infatti a seguito della sua cacciata dal paese Elly mise in pratica una sanguinosa vendetta verso tutti quelli che l’avevano accusata o si erano schierati contro di lei uccidendoli uno ad uno. Tutta questa strana storia prende spunto da un libro che si sostiene ritrovato nel 1809 intitolato “Il culto della Strega di Blair”, anche questo falso in toto, ma comunque esistente allo scopo di dar corpo alla leggenda…
In seguito alcuni estratti del libro:
“la vecchia orrenda ha strappato la testa del ragazzo e macchiato tutta la Chiesa con il suo sangue caldo. Ho notato un dente di cane che apparve sulla sua gamba … e lei controllava gli animali della foresta “.
“Svegliandosi durante la notte, egli chiaramente vide una donna tra la culla e il letto accanto, in cerca di lui. E ‘scomparsa … E ha trovato tutte le porte che sbattevano … Poi vide la stessa donna, lo stesso sguardo di nuovo, e disse: «In nome di Dio, chi siete voi” Si allontanò e al suo posto c’era sangue … “
“E ‘stata accusata di stregoneria da diversi bambini del quartiere, Kedward davanti ai magistrati, ha negato l’accusa…”
Sappiamo bene che le leggende metropolitane sono solitamente frutto di fantasia ma in questo caso sembra ci sia un fondo di verità proprio perché è stata realizzata in modo certosino e se mi trovassi in quella zona dubito che passerei da solo una notte tra i boschi tanto la hanno resa credibile…
The true story of the Blair Witch
Many of you will certainly remember the famous film “The Witch of Blair”, several years ago was a very low-cost film success. The film told the story of an alleged witch infesting the woods surrounding the town of Blair in Nebraska, capturing children and killing them one by one, letting the others witness the death of their comrades turned their backs so as not to see the scene but to understand that their turn was coming. The story was pumped a lot in those years by splitting it for a sort of documentary ended badly but it was all cleverly reconstructed with the technique of “Mockumentary” or the false documentary. What not many know is that the story was completely invented, including the Maryland metropolitan legend (Reporting by Danilo T.) which dates back to 1771, that is to say the time when the United States was not yet a sovereign state. Legend has it that a woman named Elly Kedward accused of witchcraft and banished by the village of Blair became a sort of serial killer of children in revenge; in fact, following his expulsion from the village, Elly put into practice a bloody revenge against all those who had accused her or had sided against her, killing them one by one. This whole strange story is inspired by a book that is claimed to have been found in 1809 entitled “The cult of the witch of Blair”, even this false in toto, but still exists in order to give substance to the legend …

“The old hideous snatched the boy’s head and stained the whole Church with her warm blood. I noticed a dog tooth that appeared on his leg … and she controlled the forest animals “.
“Waking up during the night, he clearly saw a woman between the cradle and the bed beside him, looking for him. It ‘disappeared … It has found all the doors slamming … Then he saw the same woman, the same look again, and said, “In the name of God, who are you” He walked away and in its place there was blood … ”
“It ‘been accused of witchcraft by several neighborhood children, Kedward before the magistrates, he has denied the accusation …”
We know well that urban legends are usually the result of imagination but in this case there seems to be a fund of truth precisely because it was built so certosino and if I was in that area I doubt that I would spend a night alone in the woods so they have made credible …
