La leggenda dei giganti costruttori: I Gentiles

Amici oggi vi racconto una leggenda che ha stranamente delle attinenze con tante altre simili nel bacino del mediterraneo, la leggenda dei Gentiles.

Secondo la tradizione Sarda i Gentiles sarebbero i più antichi abitanti dell’isola, caratterizzati da una statura fuori dalla norma, tanto da essere definiti giganti, da un bell’aspetto e da una forza sovrumana. Ora la cosa si fa più interessante dal momento che questi presunti giganti erano descritti con un solo occhio, ossi a come il più celebre Polifemo. In passato, proprio nelle vicinanze delle strutture battezzate tombe dei giganti, sono state ritrovate delle ossa umane di dimensioni sproporzionate rispetto all’epoca. Va infatti detto che la statura media doveva essere prossima al metro e cinquanta e che quindi un uomo di 2 metri sarebbe stato considerato a tutti gli effetti un gigante… Ma che dire della presenza di un solo occhio? Nella mitologia i giganti sono spesso descritti allo stesso modo il che fa pensare ad un fondo di verità.

Secondo la tradizione i monumenti megalitici del tempo sarebbero opera di questi esseri che alcuni chiamano giganti, altri anunnaki, esseri che avrebbero poi tramandato il proprio sapere agli uomini del tempo aiutandoli a farli evolvere.

The legend of the giant builders: The Gentiles

Friends today I tell you a legend that has strangely of the connections with many others similar in the Mediterranean basin, the legend of the Gentiles.

According to the Sardinian tradition the Gentiles would be the oldest inhabitants of the island, characterized by a stature out of the norm, so much to be called giants, good looks and superhuman strength. Now the thing becomes more interesting since these alleged giants were described with only one eye, bones like the most famous Polyphemus. In the past, just in the vicinity of the structures baptized by the giants’ tombs, human bones of a disproportionate size were found compared to the time. It must be said that the average height was to be close to one meter fifty and that therefore a man of 2 meters would be considered in all respects a giant … But what about the presence of a single eye? In mythology giants are often described in the same way which makes one think of a fund of truth.

According to tradition the megalithic monuments of the time would be the work of these beings that some call giants, other anunnaki, beings who would then handed down their knowledge to the men of the time helping them to evolve them.
