Il Carro della morte: Novità sull’antica leggenda Sarda
Carissimi amici oggi ho deciso di riproporvi la leggenda del Carro della Morte perché una lettrice mi ha riportato delle storie relative al suo avvistamento ricevute di prima mano da un suo parente.
Come ricorderete il Carro della Morte è una leggenda piuttosto radicata in Sardegna e sono davvero tanti i testimoni di tali avvistamenti,( Potete rileggere l’articolo relativo alla leggenda qui: http://realmisterx.altervista.org/spaventosa-leggenda-sarda-carro-della-morte/ ) ma questa storia è davvero interessante e macabra…
Il protagonista è un uomo originario di Bitti, un centro abitato a poco più di 20 km da Nuoro, al tempo la sua occupazione era la pastorizia e per evitare furti di bestiame aveva l’abitudine di passare la notte insieme alle sue greggi, e proprio durante una di queste notti fu svegliato dal suono dei campanacci delle sue pecore.
L’uomo si destò velocemente temendo un furto ma niente poteva averlo preparato a quel che gli si parò davanti allo sguardo… Davanti ai suoi animali passava infatti un carro infuocato che aveva terrorizzato gli animali che scappavano in tutte le direzioni.
L’istinto fu quello di imbracciare il fucile e sparare un colpo contro il carro che nello stesso istante sparì improvvisamente. Alla mattina ancora sotto choc per l’accaduto si rese conto che 10 delle sue pecore erano morte.
L’uomo era conosciuto nel paese per essere una persona affidabile e quindi nessuno dubitò della sua versione, ma qui le cose si fanno ancora più interessanti… Al tempo un sensitivo spiegò l’accaduto con una sorta di rito di passaggio per le anime del purgatorio che venivano trasportare, come avviene nei racconti della Divina Commedia, da un nocchiere a bordo dello strano carro, e che lui avrebbe inavvertitamente interrotto questo rito con lo sparo del suo fucile facendo si che le sue pecore siano state uccise come risarcimento.
Anche oggi la tradizione del posto vuole che nel mese di maggio si vada a pregare nella chiesa dell’Annunziata per le anime in pena che sono trasportate in questo modo.

The man woke up quickly fearing a theft but nothing could have prepared him for what he saw in front of his gaze … In front of his animals there was an infuriated carriage that had terrorized the animals that ran in all directions.
The instinct was to pull the rifle and shoot a shot against the chariot that suddenly disappeared at the same time. In the morning still under choc for the incident he realized that 10 of his sheep were dead.
The man was known in the country to be a reliable person so nobody doubted his version, but here things are even more interesting … At a time a sensitivist explained the event with a kind of rite of passage for souls of purgatory that was carried, as in the stories of the Divine Comedy, by a sneaker on the strange cart, and that he would inadvertently interrupt this ritual with the shotgun of his rifle, causing his sheep to be killed as compensation.
Even today the tradition of the place wants in May to go to the church of the Annunziata for the souls that are being carried this way.
